TL;DR
Industrial deafness claims for veterans follow six clear stages from free assessment to settlement. The whole process runs on a no win, no fee basis and typically takes 12–18 months.
Before you start
You do not need any paperwork to begin. Your solicitor will obtain your service record and arrange medical evidence. All you need is your service dates, trade and a description of your symptoms.

The six stages
Each stage below is handled by your solicitor, with you in the loop at every step.
Step-by-step
Step 1.Free assessment
A 15-minute call confirms you have a viable claim. No upfront cost, no obligation.
Step 2.Sign the no win, no fee agreement
A Conditional Fee Agreement so you pay nothing if the claim fails.
Step 3.Service records and audiogram
Your solicitor obtains records from the MoD and books an independent audiological assessment.
Step 4.Medical report
An ENT specialist or audiological physician produces a condition and prognosis report linking your hearing loss to service.
Step 5.Letter of claim to the MoD
Formal claim setting out liability, causation and quantum. The MoD has four months to respond.
Step 6.Negotiation and settlement
Quantum is agreed, ideally under the MoD settlement scheme. Funds are paid within 28 days of agreement.
